IELTS WRITING TASK 2-pros and cons of ads

The pros and cons of advertisements, discuss.

Nowadays, it is quite common to see ads in mass media, such as TV, Internet and so forth. To some extent, I confess that ads do facilitate us in our daily life. Nevertheless it also arise problems concerning bothering or even bluffing.

It is easy to find a thousands and one benefits of ads, otherwise there will not be so many ads appeared in almost everything around our life. An example at hand is that it provides us with information of latest products, and information of when and where there will be a promotion.

I also reckon that, however, though the advertised brands are better than those brands that are not advertised, problems exist as well. For instance, by making consumers to imagine they can own the same life style in the ads, producers sell themselves and ignore their disadvantages to make product looks or sounds good, which mislead consumers. And there seems to be a growing number of consumers believe that products do not perform as well as ads claim.

At the same time, I also felt much of advertising is way too annoying, especially while we are attracted by an exciting TV program, ads seems to own an extremely well developed quality that every time it occurs unbelievablely just at the right time when the highlights are to occur.

In summary, I hold the view that the successful ads strategy depends not only on the sender delivering the message, but also the recipients are to be receptive. Consequently, it is high time for producers to find a more appropriate way to advertise their products.
