Big 4 PwC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG-Diary-1

The training is held in an university in central SDQ. Firm arranged our accomodation at a reasonablly decent business hotel, with about one stop away from the university.

At first day, one partener gave a speech about the firm and this trainning. She only spent 12 years to become a partener. The content of this trainning is about fundermental and intermedium financial accounting with a few coverage of financial analysis. A says this is also helpful to him as well, since these content is not covered in CPA exam and he only has a vague memory about these as time passes.

Lecturers are the same lecturers that the universtiy uses to teach its own students, so the teaching quality is roughly the same. Having said that now A does believe what A told us that you are not inferior to graduates from famous university in terms of technique skills, because to his way of thinking, A is better than them. But of course they might not put that much effort to this trainning. A is quite a good lecturer, but in my eyes based on his technical skills he did not get what he deserves to have, either in terms of interest or fame. This is the life isn't it. The academic world is fraught with "demostration accounting", and no one seems care about pure theoretical deductions, but it is the latter that is the essense of accouting, in my eyes.

The air quality in SDQ is unexpectedly good. The sky is blue with only a few rainny days. What a miracle. But the environment between the hotel and university is quite dispointing because it is just like a 3rd-tire city--dirty, noisey and dirty. I would not pay that high price to buy an unit in that region of Beijing even if I had that amount of money. By the way, the cost of raising a child in SDQ also frightens me. You need to pay lots of money in order to send your child to a decent junior/senior high school.
