IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - NATURE NURTURE

It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talent, for instance for sport or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician. Discuss both these views

The chronic debate over nature and nurture seems to exist since the age of Adam, which currently, is brought back to our consciousness. People tend to hold the view that some individuals are born with such exclusive aptitudes as music or sport, whereas a rather controversial assertion that no children could not be cultivated to be an athletic or musician is maintained by minorities.

Those minorities, with the motto that genius consist of 99% endeavor and 1% talent, reckon that as long as we practice more assiduously than the gifted people do, there will be, theoretically, one day when we can surpass them, despite their talents.

Unfortunately, as far as I am thinking, there is still a long way to go to apply theory to reality, and they miss the other part of the motto, which is the 1% talent is more crucial than the 99% endeavor. Also, such arguments seem to put a negligence to the cost- benefit principles, by which I mean that we could, indeed, confine ourselves to transform a relative advantage to an advantage, while the cost may be so high that if we spend these vigor on other prospects, their benefits could be doubled or even tripled than the counterpart of overcoming our deficiencies

Another noticeable situation is that only few individuals in history become talented celebrities. If such a “theory” does exist, how come the amount is so inconspicuous? Needless to say that becoming a talent person necessitates far more than industry, and among those prerequisites, in my eyes, aptitude accounts for a dominant proportion.

In conclusion, although there are the chances that we could overtake those gifted people by our diligence, it will be better if we cherish what we are given, and live a hilarious life.
