IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - ANNIMAL

We were brought up to believe that human beings are superior to animals. Today, however, gone are the days when people could kill animals at will or even exercise experiments on animals. Dissenters claim that humans have no moral right to test on animals, whereas consenters deem that it yields beneficial outcomes. I personally reckon that the benefits prevail over its disadvantages.
Admittedly, calls for ceasing animal testing sound valid, and I hole-heartedly agree with some points. For instance, opponents argue that lives of animals should also be respect, and there are alternative methods available for scientific experiments.

Nevertheless, we do not need to look far to realise that these drawbacks pale in comparison when considering its numerous benefits.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - ADS

To what extend do you agree
Never before in history has the business been more prosperous than now. Commercial, as one of the primary means to achieve this, have a unique impact on individuals, which arguably nothing could approach. Some people highly praise it, even arguing that advertisement is a piece of art, whereas I, similar to other individuals, regard it more as a methodology to induce customers to buy something unnecessary, given its merits.
Not surprisingly, advocates emphasis on the necessity of advertising. They vociferously support that advertisement is indispensable in free market economies, because of its capacity as a source to spur consumers’ demand and to create job opportunities. They also state that consumers need to be informed about the attributes and other alternatives of the product before sealing the deal.
Admittedly, correct as it may be in these assertions, several warning need to be heeded. The potential effect of manipulation serves as a case in point to illustrate advertising’s drawbacks. Most advertisers focus on selling a brand image, which usually invite glamorous or successful people in order to create an impression that consumers would be similar to those people after using a particular product. It is such an illusion that motivates individuals to purchase impulsively, resulting in unnecessary orders.
In addition, when it comes to the impact on children, its advantages pale in comparison with its disadvantages. Considering the fact that young children are more likely to be influenced and the fact that parents nowadays usually palm their children to every wish, advertisers often target their marketing at them, which in turn they put pressure onto their parents. This process seldom involves a rational analysis of necessity.
As a result, government should not shirk their responsibilities. Governors have a duty to verify the content of commercials, and accordingly introduce laws to punish those irregularities, especially in order to protect young people. For instance, unhealthy food should not be marketed in a way that attracts children. Another case in point might be that warnings must be noticeably displayed on cigarette packets.
Consequently, judging from the reams of evidence discussed above, we can safely conclude that despite its contributions made to our life, at least a certain degree of censorship need to be casted on advertising industry.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - Ads

Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold. To what extend do you agree.

In no other time in history have people witnessed such high volume of products being purchased globally. This might be readily attributed to the numerous commercials. Nevertheless, it is collectively deemed that advertisements fail to cater for consumers’ real needs but rather reflect the power of itself. Rationality of this assertion will be ramified as how consumers suffer and what the real necessity means.

On the one hand, consumers easily fall into the trap of glamorous commercials, especially those cosmetic companies that employ gorgeous celebrities. Take L’Oreal for example, elegant film stars can frequently be seen in their advertisements with the purpose of creating such an illusion that consumers may be as attractive as those celebrities are after using their products. More often than not, however, commercials are merely the culprits behind which lead to consumer disappointment. Because of this, consumer dissatisfaction and commercials are inextricably linked.

On the other hand, consumers would buy the product had they thought that it is good value for money. For instance, seldom do people see Apple furiously advertise their products, but it seems that everyone knows and desires to purchase its i-series products, such as iPhone, iPad or iPod. Thus, it is goods themselves rather than commercials that persuade people to pay. From this example it has been proved that customers’ needs could be satisfied even in absence of commercials.

To recapitulate, after analysing consumers’ sufferance and their real needs, the inability of advertisements to fulfil customers’ needs has been proven. Consequently, it is recommended that advertisers would better focus on the quality of their products and consumers would better be more rational when making their decisions.

IELTS WRITING TASK 1 - map of Garlsdon

The graph is a map of Garlsdon, where a new supermarket, symbolized as an S, is expected to be launched for the town, and there are two alternative locations.

A large square-shaped countryside is in the middle of the map, inside which there is a housing area, whose outline is resemble to the Australia’s, and where two industry lands are sited both within the north and south of it, just adjacent to the countryside. Relatively speaking, the northern one is shaped roughly like a square, while the southern one looks like a rectangle. The town center, which all traffic is banned, is almost situated on the northern boundary of the rectangle industry land.

One of the two options for the supermarket is located in the centre town, where there are four transportation lines available. One of them is the railway, going across the town centre from northwest to southeast, shaped like an S. The other road leads to Cransdon, 25km away in southeast, with a population of 29,000. Another road goes to Bransdon, whose population is 15,000, 16km southwest. The last line is to Hindon, 10,000 population, 12km northwest, leading the same direction of the rail way, between which option No.2 is located.

IELTS WRITING TASK 1 - silkworm

The pictures illuminate what the whole life of silkworm looks like and how our silk cloth is produced in graphic detail.

Initially, of course, there is a moth spawn on a special kind of leaf named mulberry, which, ten days later, will be the food for newly bred silkworm larva. While they are growing, gradually an oval-shaped silk thread is produced. 4-6 weeks later, when the thread is almost complete expect for a hole at the end of the oval, larva make their way into it through the hole, which is plugged after 3-8 days. It is at this time that we obtain a critical substance called cocoon, out of which, half a month later, a month is born, also which, more significantly, is our starting phase of creating silk-made cloth.

Before we do the tailor work, a screening process for cocoons, our raw material, is necessitated. Then we boil the selected cocoons in water, and unwind it to a 300-900 meter thread. Using those threads, we twist three of them into one string, which could be dyed right now or in the next stage, the weaving.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - FUNCTION OF UNIVERSITY

Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. What, in your opinion, should be the main function of a university?

As one of the repercussions of economic downturn, unemployed rate has been maintained in staggering high, which simulates individuals’ rebuke for the role university plays in a man’s life. Some people reckon that it is only the knowledge to be utilized in one’s career that should be taught in the tertiary education, while others believe that it is justifiable for the university to distribute knowledge for its own sake. As far as I am concerned, however, both of the views are controversial.

On one hand, the latter assertion that only skills itself should be given, seems to put a negligence in the fact that the purpose of education is to foster such kind of people that they could devote their own contributions to our society, rather than those who waste time on digging into the theory that could sparsely be productive. On the other hand, the former opinion makes more sense, because it, at least, is more practical, which is beneficial to both the student and the society in terms of materialism, a pervasively accepted value at this time of age.

In my perspective, unfortunately, neither the mercenary-oriented nor the knowledge-oriented view is the best choice. Personally, I hold the assertion it is the methodology, namely how to learn, that students should be taught in their tertiary education, in that there may be one day when what we have learned are rendered obsolete. Nevertheless the significance of abilities to learn will never dwindle away,

All in all, admittedly, some merits do lye in the former views, yet leaning how to learn will benefit for the long run.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - FIXED PUNISHMENT

Some people believe that there should be fixed punishment for each type of crime. Others, however, argue that circumstance of an individual crime, and the motivation for committing it, should always be taken into account when deciding on the punishment. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Never before in history has the disparity between the affluent and the destitute been so evident than now, which inevitably paves the way for felonies. Some individuals, usually those who hold a strong grudge at the mere mention of crime, insist that punishments for every kind of crime should be fixed, without any sympathy to the perpetrators, while others maintain a relatively reasonable assertion that more consideration, such as under which situation or with which motivation did they crime, should not be neglected.

It is, indeed, quite easy for us, as an human being or even a victim, to understand their infuriation toward flagitious crime, because any of us, in fact, is the potential target of felony, consequently it do make sense that we should condemn rather than condone the criminal act.

Nevertheless, human rights also lie in the culprits, it would be unfair to treat a burglar who steal stuff for being alive the same as the one who steal things just for entertainment, in that the former has no alternative but to committee a crime in order to sustain his or her life, while there are substitutes for the latter.

Another case in piont is that, in reality, both of the two systems of law which are statute law and case law, take the elements such as motivation and situation into consideration. Besides, law should be used to improve our live rather than circumscribe our rights by route.

All in all, hatreds as we are toward the crime, we should give a more comprehensive consideration about how we tackle it.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - NATURE NURTURE

It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talent, for instance for sport or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician. Discuss both these views

The chronic debate over nature and nurture seems to exist since the age of Adam, which currently, is brought back to our consciousness. People tend to hold the view that some individuals are born with such exclusive aptitudes as music or sport, whereas a rather controversial assertion that no children could not be cultivated to be an athletic or musician is maintained by minorities.

Those minorities, with the motto that genius consist of 99% endeavor and 1% talent, reckon that as long as we practice more assiduously than the gifted people do, there will be, theoretically, one day when we can surpass them, despite their talents.

Unfortunately, as far as I am thinking, there is still a long way to go to apply theory to reality, and they miss the other part of the motto, which is the 1% talent is more crucial than the 99% endeavor. Also, such arguments seem to put a negligence to the cost- benefit principles, by which I mean that we could, indeed, confine ourselves to transform a relative advantage to an advantage, while the cost may be so high that if we spend these vigor on other prospects, their benefits could be doubled or even tripled than the counterpart of overcoming our deficiencies

Another noticeable situation is that only few individuals in history become talented celebrities. If such a “theory” does exist, how come the amount is so inconspicuous? Needless to say that becoming a talent person necessitates far more than industry, and among those prerequisites, in my eyes, aptitude accounts for a dominant proportion.

In conclusion, although there are the chances that we could overtake those gifted people by our diligence, it will be better if we cherish what we are given, and live a hilarious life.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2-cement making process

The pictures shed lights on the phases and machineries utilised in the process of producing cement, and how it is used to manifect concrete in order to build stuff.

At the rudiment stage of cement production, limestone and clay are mixed at the time when they go through a crusher, an equipment that could grind them into powder, after which the powder were, more competely, mingled by a mixer. Floating through a pipe, these mixed powder come into a rotating heater which force them to rotate with blaze heating inside the rotater, out of which the heated powder are poured onto a transforming track, where there is a grinder at the end of it. Eventually, coming through the grinder, the cememt is produced, which individuals can pack into bags or use for futher production.

With regard to futher production, such as concret for instance, the cement is also an indispensable sources, with an integration of water, which accounts for 10%, sand, occupying 25%, gravel (namely small stones), with the most preponderant proportion of 50%, and 15% of itself, all of which are puored, at the same time, into a clock-wise rotating container called concrete mixer.

IELTS WRITING TASK 1-annual spending in UK

In the pie chart of 1981, salaries, both teachers’ and other workers’, accounted for the lagest porprotion, with 40% and 28% respectively. The rest equally went to resources, like books, for instance, and fumiture or equipment, both of which shares a percentage of 15. Last 2% was represented by insurance.

A quite identical pattern befell the pie of 1991, where the salaries paly a dominaint role as well, whereas there is a spasely increase of 5% in resources and a 1% in insurance. On the contrary, a little drastic shrink of 10% was recorded by furniture and equipment.

In 2001, however, the configuration was dramaticaly changed, with exceptions of teachers’s salaries, a relatively stable item, which still occupied the most significant share (45%) and a slice increase in insurance fee (6%). The expenditure of furniture and equipment, maybe transformed into more labour-saving frustrations, soar to 23%, with an increase of 18% in comparation with the year of 1991, which consequently rendered other headcounts-focused expenses, such as resources and salaries of non-teaching workers, plunge into smaller proportion.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2-good member of society

Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good member of society. Other, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Juvernail delinquency, a controversal and embarrassing problem to both parents and the society, has recently instigated pulblic concern nation wide. Some individuals surely believe that the parents should shoulder the incumbency on raising their child as an scrupulous honest person, yet others hold the view that it in school that such kind of  liability lies in. Personally, I reckon that neither the fromer nor the latter assersion is well founded.

Those parent-oritened advocaters maintan that unconsipicious as it is, parenting plays an perfound role in moulding children’s uprightness. In comparation, schooling is more often symblized as an sancratory for inculating konwledge rather than a place specialized in raising moral awareness. Besides, parents themselves are the children’s initial teachers, and they stay with children during the age of 0 to 6, a critical period when the moral value froms.

On the contrary, the school-foused individuals argue that the single role that a school palys as merely teaching konwledge, from which the modern education, with such versatile function as both knowledge education and moral cultivation, stems, has been rendered obsolete. What's more, it is incredable for a place where children spend 16 or more years from his/her 6 to his/her 22 on education, to escape its resposiblity of fostering upstanding citizens.

As far as I am concerned, cultivating the descendant should neither be a liability for familiy nor a obligation for school, neither of which could be responsible for, hypothetically, the failure in fulfilling their jobs. It shoud be a incumbency for every single individual who has an esctasy of love to his/her country.

IELTS WRITING TASK 1-reasons why agricultural land less productive

The pie chart illuminates several dominaint resources vividly from which the more and more counterproductive arable land envoled, while the table beneath it demostrates the ramefacation of how these apatheoges devastigate three places in the world during the 1990s.

So apparent is it that the pie was cagegoried into four sorts, three of which shared an appoxiamitely siginificant equal proportion. Specifically, over-grazing, a quite short sighted behavior often wreak havoc on the fertil land, ranked on the top, representing for 35%, followed by deforestation and over-cultivation, with 30% and 28% respectively. The rest 7% went to other causes.

Also depressed, as we can see from the table, Europe, which was beyond one’s imagination, went through the most disouraging performance in land degradation, sharing a ratio of 23%, almost twice as much the porpotion as Oceania (13%) , where there are a multitude of islands in the South Pacific envolving Australia and New Zealand. The lowest total degradation in land was achieved by North America, with only 5%. The total land degraded rate is a combination of such branches as deforestaion, over-cultivation and over-grazing, within which all of the propotion is no more than 12%.

IELTS SPEAKING PART 2-ads in your country

How do you think of ads in your country?
Nowadays, it is quite common to see ads in mass media, such as TV, Internet and so forth. To some extent, ads do facilitate us in our daily life. For example, it provides us with information of latest products, and information of when and where there will be a promotion.

But as far as I am concerned, though I agree that advertised brands are better than those brands that are not advertised, it also arise problems. For instance, by making consumers to imagine they can own the same life style in the ads, producers sell themselves and ignore their disadvantages to make product looks or sounds good, which mislead consumers. And there seems to be a growing number of consumers believe products do not perform as well as ads claim.

At the same time, I also felt much of advertising is way too annoying. Though given that we watch television for a significant number of hours per day, the commercials affords people time to go to the bathroom or make a snack for themselves, television commercials disrupt the flow of televised films and during live broadcasts of sports events, television commercials seem to have the uncanny ability to appear just when something significant develops in the event.

Consequently, I reckon that the successful communication depends not solely on the sender delivering the message, but the recipient has to be receptive. It is high time for producers to find a more appropriate way to advertise their products.

IELTS SPEAKING TASK 2-Describe a car you would like to have

Describe a car you would like to have in the future. Which you will choose. Look like. How much. Explain why you would like to buy it.

In the future, the car I’d like to have is an Audi car, maybe Audi A4. I hope that my car is black and mid-sized, because I am a little introverted, and do not like to flaunt myself, so BMW and Benz are not my choice. In that they are usually shaped gorgeously on the outside, and are designed for speed seekers. Owing cars like that are the symbol of wealth passion and speed, which is far from my characteristics.

An A4 costs approximately 3-400000 RMB. It isn't a cheap car but you never manage to find a car with the qualities as this car does at the same cost. It is definitely worth it.

Besides, the new Audis are much nicer looking inside and out also. Today all new Audi models are recognizable at a glance thanks to LED daytime running lights, which symbolize the horns of a bull charging full speed ahead, bursting with vigor and pride. Each Audi has its own personality in terms of lighting: the Audi A4 has a sweeping light strip which expresses elegance, while that of the Audi R8 radiates strength and dominance. A strip of light can be designed to underscore a vehicle’s character, just as eyeliner emphasizes an eye. This fundamentally alters the body language of Audi models.

IELTS SPEAKING PART 2-Describe a subject you studied in school or university

Describe a subject you studied in school or university. What the subject was. Who taught you. How the teacher taught this subject. Why you think it was important.

Though I major in accounting, my favorite subject is Japanese which I learned as an elective course, instead of a compulsory one, in university. Our teacher Zhang has colorful experiences, which can be inferred from his talks. His major is Japanese, and had been in Japan for several years, then came to Qingdao as a Japanese teacher.

His class is never boring, because besides the knowledge in textbook, he always told us some of his stories, which interests us a lot. For example, he told us that there are so many kinds of jobs he did in Japan, such as hoist operator, driver and even pizza boy. What’s more, he told us that the members of gangland are usually part–timers, because you may see one works as a worker on weekday and see the same person in the gangland at weekends.

I reckon that it is significant to learn a second foreign language, because Professor Lang xianping once said that English is so crucial that it is not a foreign language any more in the modern society, in that you should learn it as well as your mother tongue. So in order to communicate with more people, and have more choices in the future, I chose Japanese as my elective course.

IELTS SPEAKING PART 2-Describe a trip you want to have

Describe a trip you want to have. What the trip is. When and where it is. What happen in this trip. Why you want this trip.

I want a trip to Japan, especially a city named Ehime, which is located in the southwest in Japan and is the hometown of XXXX, a popular Japanese singer/ dubber. During this trip, I’d like to see the beautiful scenery and enjoy its hot spring, which is the symbol of the city.

And more important, I wish I could bump into XXXXa, because I am a big fan of her. The first time I knew her is due to a song named Pray in this summer. The song is fabulous awesome and brilliant, because it is full of passion, combined with her nice voice. Besides, its lyrics are also instructive, for example, it reads like: as long as you never give up, there definitely will be an answer, no matter how many times you failed, which encouraged me to stick to the preparation of a vital examination.

Another reason is that I have learned a litter Japanese and passed the Japanese Learner Proficiency Test (JLPT) in 2008, so I want to put it into practice. Needless to say, Japan is the best place to choose. You know that Japanese is not as popular as English is, and there is little possibility to use it in my daily life. Unfortunately, most of things I learned have been forgotten. So maybe the trip will help me to regain what I have learned.

Furthermore, except for history and some political problems, I appreciate the preciseness and indomitability of Japanese people. Because I heard that even in the high summer Japanese white collars are still in their suits rather than wear T-shirts. What’s more, never will you see a leading role gives up in any kinds of Japanese cartoons, such as <one prince>, < saint seiya > and so on. And remember my idol I mentioned just now? These advantages also can be reflected in XXXXa’s songs.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2-old people

In Britain, when someone gets old they often go to live in a home with other old people where there are nurses to look after them. Sometimes the government has to pay for this care. Who should be responsible for our old people? Give reasons for your answer.

Never before in history has the issue of aging of population been more evident than now, which has become a burden for government. Consequently, there is a hot debate on who should pay for our old people. Personally, both young people and government should take the responsibility for them.

Needless to say, we have been brought up by our parents. It is a deplorable manner for us to take it for granted that they devote all they have in order to provide us with a better future, though they do not expect any reward for their sacrifice. Besides, sending old people to the care centre maybe is not our best choice, because people feel isolated when they get old, and this, which requires the care of their children, cannot be solved by the care center.

As well as government should not neglect the contributions they made to our society when they were young, and, as one of their rewards, a proper proportion of taxation should be paid for the care system. Although they were paid for their works, the contributions far outweigh their payment.

In conclusion, both young people and government should commemorate the contribution they made to us, and view it as our responsibility rather than burden to pay for this care, not only resting on the happiness old people provide us, but also making our own contributions to them.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - job satisfaction

As most people spend a major part of their adult life at work, job satisfaction is an important element of individual wellbeing. What factors contribute to job satisfaction? How realistic is the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers?

Frequent job-hopping, usually regarded as a beacon of disloyalty in the past, is now becoming more and more acceptable amid people, which arouses concerns about what factors result in such a low job satisfaction. As far as I am concerned, three elements account for a large proportion of job satisfaction.

First of all, a clear career path, which means a planned timetable of progression within the company is available to its employers, ranks the top of the list, because it provide people with hope by embodying different works you should do in different stages. That is why although works in KPMG, the biggest accounting firm established in 1987, may exhaust one person, there are also a growing number of graduates eager to be employed.

Then, needless to say, salary is another important factor that affects people’s satisfaction towards jobs, and this may be the main reason which results in the high job-hopping rate. As Vespasian says” Money has no smell.” So it is everyone’s rights to claim payment for his work. When the payment fails to meet their expectations, it is not a deplorable choice for people to resign in order to find a better one.

Last but by no means least, the relationship between colleagues cannot be neglected either. The significance of salary diminishes when compared to happiness. Were there full of bicker with my collages, which bereaves me of the happiness, I would rather choose a job with harmonious relations despite of a lower payment.

Today, however, although the job-hopping rate declines, owing to the economic crisis currently engulfing the world, there is a slim possibility for all workers to be satisfied by their jobs, because the desire for people to woo a better life never ends, and maybe that is how the world keeps on developing.

IELTS WRITING-children are engaged in work

In many countries children are engaged in some kind of paid work. Some people regard this as completely wrong, while others consider it as valuable work experience, important for learning and taking responsibility. What are your opinions on this?

Nowadays, it is common to see children engage in some kind of paid work. As this phenomenon develops prosperously, more and more people show their concerns about whether it is proper for children to do paid works. People who favor such kind of work view it as valuable experience for learning and taking responsibility, while others maintain that it is nothing more than a waste of time. Both of them are well supported.

As for people who support such action, the part time job is a good chance for children to put what they learned into practice, despite a kind of occupying their study time, because they reckon that the knowledge learned from books are way too theoretical, and it will be useless if they are not put into practice. What’s more, when children are hunting for a job, the employers pay much attention to their experience. Consequently, they hold the view that such kind of work provides children with a good chance for both their study and further development.

As for people who show little interest in these works, it is study that is the most important thing to which top priority should be attached rather than waste time in gaining experience, because no matter how vital it is for a child to gain experience, the further development will collapse if there is not a well based fundament.

From the discussion above, we can easily conclude that both proponents and opponents of dong paid work have their respective reasons and justifications. However, personally speaking, children’s paid work should not be carried out at the cost of falling in their study. Only if a proper proportion between work and study is found, can we say that this action’s benefits outweigh its disadvantages.

IELTS WRITINGTASK 2 - traditional skills

When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It is undeniable the fact that technology facilitates our life in every aspect, compared with traditional skills. Consequently, some people presume that there is little significance to try and keep those skills or ways of life alive. In my perspective, however, that may not be the case.

For those who are indifferent to the growing extinguishing of traditional skills or lifestyle, technology, which indeed dose a thousand and one benefits to our daily life, seems to play a more vital role in the modern life. What’s more, the trend is obvious that more and more people seem to accept such kind of view.

Nevertheless, as far as I am concerned, never should we put technology as the top of our priority, neglecting the importance of tradition. On the contrary, it is tradition that is the most crucial aspect we should appreciate, because the culture which derives from tradition determines a nation’s development. Take Japan as an example, when the leaders of Foard, a giant car manufacture in America, fly to Japan to lean the inventory system of Toyota, a famous car manufacture in Japan, which created the so-called zero inventory management, the CEO of Toyota, said that welcome to Toyota and learn whatever you want, but the spirit of Japanese people is way too easy to learn.

At the same time, the neglecting of tradition will result in culture invasion as well, which is a nightmare to any people of any country beyond doubt, because once we are used to another kind of culture, the demand of that country’s things such as food and fashion, will easily attach an disaster impact on our country’s economic. For example, it is still clear in mind that a few years ago, China banned the broadcasting of Korean series in order to prevent the epidemic phenomenon of imitating the life style in those series amid teenagers.

In conclusion, given that technology is indispensible to our daily live, it should not be appreciated to such an extent that it endangers our tradition. More aspects should be taken into consideration rather than keep fixating on its advantages.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2-pros and cons of ads

The pros and cons of advertisements, discuss.

Nowadays, it is quite common to see ads in mass media, such as TV, Internet and so forth. To some extent, I confess that ads do facilitate us in our daily life. Nevertheless it also arise problems concerning bothering or even bluffing.

It is easy to find a thousands and one benefits of ads, otherwise there will not be so many ads appeared in almost everything around our life. An example at hand is that it provides us with information of latest products, and information of when and where there will be a promotion.

I also reckon that, however, though the advertised brands are better than those brands that are not advertised, problems exist as well. For instance, by making consumers to imagine they can own the same life style in the ads, producers sell themselves and ignore their disadvantages to make product looks or sounds good, which mislead consumers. And there seems to be a growing number of consumers believe that products do not perform as well as ads claim.

At the same time, I also felt much of advertising is way too annoying, especially while we are attracted by an exciting TV program, ads seems to own an extremely well developed quality that every time it occurs unbelievablely just at the right time when the highlights are to occur.

In summary, I hold the view that the successful ads strategy depends not only on the sender delivering the message, but also the recipients are to be receptive. Consequently, it is high time for producers to find a more appropriate way to advertise their products.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2-spend a lot of money in art

Many countries spend a lot of money in art. Some people think investment in art is necessary, but others say money is better spent on improving health and education. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, as a result of the transparency of government finical expenditure, people realize that there is a growing trend in many countries that a lot of money is spent in art. Needless to say that views focus on this phenomenon differ sharply. In my point of view, it is necessary that the expenditure of art accounts for a proper proportion of revenue, while the top priority should be devoted to health and education.

It is obviously reasonable to cultivate ourselves in art, because our lives will become dull if there is nothing but something related to science. What’s more, the globalization engulfing the world also established a higher requisition for us to enhance the understanding of different countries’ culture, which can be benefited by art learning.

As far as I am concerned, despite of these demands, the expenditure should be confined to a proper proportion of revenue, because it seems that art is not the most crucial aspect for government to invest, compared to health and education. We do not need to look far to see the importance of health care to both one country and its people, for example, it is said that in developed countries, people feel free to consume in that there is a well built health care system, so that they will not suffer from a health problem in the future, which in turn will boost the growth of GDP.

Then, the significance of investing in education seems to be more obvious. We even cannot appreciate art, if we are not equipped by a certain kind of knowledge. To illustrate, when we are facing with the opera of Shakespeare or Mona Lisa drawn by Da Vinci, we need to know the history and background or even the science stuff behind these arts in order to a better understanding.

All in all, the investment in art will be acceptable, following a more sophisticated scanning process, which takes all aspects such as health and education into consideration.

IELTS Writing TASK 2 -security in the urban area

More and more measures to improve the security in the urban area have been introduced because of the increased crime. Do the benefits of the measures outweigh the drawbacks?

Nowadays, with the gunshot incident becoming more and more common, the security in urban area has aroused public concern nationwide. Consequently, more and more measures have been taken to solve this problem. I my opinion, however, the drawbacks far outweigh its benefits.

People who advocate the existing measures argue that it is the top priority for people to be alive, suffering from the Sep.11 attacks. They even feel much safer than before with the current security-guarantee equipment or personnel around them, despite of numerous inconvenience.

Personally, although great significance should be attached to secure personal safety, the measure should not be taken to such an extent that they have an adverse impact on our life. For example, when we are walking in the street, it is not rare for us to see the concrete barriers lying along the road in order to prevent a car bomb, especially near some government places, which sometimes even block the road for passerby.

Besides, I reckon that it is these measures that generate an atmosphere of danger rather than the real situation itself. Urban life used to be a kind of easy and relax, while today the feeling changed, owing to the enforcement of personnel or electronic surveillance, which also results in an invasion of privacy.

In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, the security should not be improved by such kinds of measures at the cost of inconvenience of public. We would better tackle this problem in a more rational way, taking both pros and cons into consideration.

IELTS SPEAKING PART 2-A Film or Book About the Future

A Film or Book About the Future
Describe a type of book or film about the future.
You should say:
what's the name of the book or film
the name of the film is oblivion which stars Tom Cruise as a cloned man, so it is a science friction.
what type of book or film it is

    what content it has;
the plot is quite simple or similar to other friction films that at the beginning the ET extra-terrestrial dominates the world, but after the gallant endeavour, human finally beats them
and explain do you like or dislike this book or film.
The only plot that impressed me was the discovery of its cloned identity, because the background of the film was set under the situation where the earth is severely polluted, so all human beings were moved to space, leaving Tom and his wife on the earth to eliminate remaining mythical creatures. And unexpectedly Tom met another “tom” and dug out the fact that it is the earth that is invaded, and all humans have to hide themselves from Tom’s hunting. Then, as most friction film does, he lead human to successfully fight against the ET.

On the country, another recent friction film, superman, has a larger emotional impact on me than oblivion. For example, when the tornado comes, Clark’s father still choose to let Clark and his mother to go to the safe zone first and then save their dog at the cost of his life, even though he knows Clark is superman. Such an impact is far more dramatic than that in oblivion. So in my eyes, oblivion is far more than perfect.
