Many countries
spend a lot of money in art. Some people think investment in art is necessary,
but others say money is better spent on improving health and education. Discuss
both these views and give your own opinion.
Nowadays,
as a result of the transparency of government finical expenditure, people realize
that there is a growing trend in many countries that a lot of money is spent in
art. Needless to say that views focus on this phenomenon differ sharply. In my
point of view, it is necessary that the expenditure of art accounts for a
proper proportion of revenue, while the top priority should be devoted to
health and education.
It
is obviously reasonable to cultivate ourselves in art, because our lives will
become dull if there is nothing but something related to science. What’s more,
the globalization engulfing the world also established a higher requisition for
us to enhance the understanding of different countries’ culture, which can be
benefited by art learning.
As
far as I am concerned, despite of these demands, the expenditure should be
confined to a proper proportion of revenue, because it seems that art is not
the most crucial aspect for government to invest, compared to health and
education. We do not need to look far to see the importance of health care to
both one country and its people, for example, it is said that in developed
countries, people feel free to consume in that there is a well built health
care system, so that they will not suffer from a health problem in the future,
which in turn will boost the growth of GDP.
Then,
the significance of investing in education seems to be more obvious. We even
cannot appreciate art, if we are not equipped by a certain kind of knowledge. To
illustrate, when we are facing with the opera of Shakespeare or Mona Lisa drawn by Da
Vinci, we need to know the history and background or even the science stuff behind
these arts in order to a better understanding.
All
in all, the investment in art will be acceptable, following a more sophisticated
scanning process, which takes all aspects such as health and education into
consideration.
Apparently, in developed countries, people feel free to consume in that there is a well built health care system, but what to do with education, for example?
