We use Cards, Dice, fictitious Money and Tokens to play.
Each player is represented by a small metal token that is moved around the edge of the board buying
developing or trading property, and collecting rent from our opponents.
and explain what was special about this game.
the game was special because was named after the
economic concept of monopoly — the domination of a market by a single entity. But
personally, I deem that it should be oligopoly, because there are 2 more
players in the market rather than one.
Unlike other games, I reckoned that it was much
more similar to the real world, which might develop a Good
business sense.
For example, If
the player lands on an unowned property, whether street, railroad, or utility,
they can buy the property for its listed purchase price. Whereas If the
property landed on is already owned , they must pay the
owner a given rent, the price of which depends on its level of development. We
also needed to use tactics such as choosing the timing to make decisions for
purchasing in order to minimize the cost.
