6.Some people believe
that the international tourists should charge more than the
people in the local place while they are traveling around.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Never before in history
has the transport industry been so efficient, which arises the
interests of those itchy feet to travel around the globe. This may have/carry
tremendous implications about the life of local
people. Thus, it is believed that although tourism industry may boost local
economy, tourists should pay more than the local residents should. The reasons
behind this will ramify themselves as the ramifications on cost alongside environment of local people.
On the one hand, international
tourists may place regional individuals under intolerable pressure.
Take Venice for example, numerous tourists has not only elevated the
price of their merchandise but also transformed the local grocery
stores into souvenir shops in order to cater for their needs. From this
example can we imagine that local people are leading such a hard life that they
purchase fewer goods for higher prices. Thus, international travellers should take
a sizeable proportion of responsibility to compensate their sufferings.
On the other hand,
global travelling also deteriorates local environment by the carbon
dioxide emitted from transportations. For instance, massive CO2 has been
criticised for the dominant culprit for the chronic draught in Adelaide,
where lots of farmers have bankrupted due to inadequate water quota. This also
has adverse impact on urban residents because of the hike in food price. Consequently,
this may be readily attributable to the tourists.
To recapitulate, after
analysing the ramifications that travellers have on local residents, it is fair
to maintain that they should be charged more than the local individuals. It is
predicted that they will be more responsible for their travel decisions after
the implementation of this measure.
