4.The proportion of aging population in some western countries is increasing rapidly in the last two decades. What are the effects on both individual and society as a whole? What measures should be done to deal with this issue?

Never before in history have we experienced such a well-developed living environment. This at least partially contributes to the ballooning geriatric population. It is argued that urgent measures, such as spurring birth rate and allocating more funds to pension system, should be taken immediately. This essay will focus on its ramifications on individual and society.

On the one hand, the increasing senior population means that individuals have to devote more time and money to take care of their parents. This is particularly true in eastern countries like China where the family bond constitutes a large proportion in gauging one’s moral soundness. For example, Chinese middle class couple might have to spend 20% of their income on their senior members in addition to raising their child and repaying the mortgage. This example clearly不能总是用它吧 demonstrates how hard/miserable the live are for the younger generation. Thus, effective measures should be taken.

On the other hand, the nation labour force is dwindled due to the aging population. For instance, Japan has been experiencing a negative growth rate for years, which puts huge stress on the public health system and hindered the development of other industries. This indicates the negative repercussions that a geriatric society may has. Because of this, adequate fund must be allotted.

To recapitulate, after analysing the adverse impacts of an aging population, the conclusion can be safely drawn that immediate actions must be taken. It is predicted that this gripping problem will be solved in the coming future so long as people work together.
